Who we are
This website is operated by HUMANUS Ventures Inc. ("HUMANUS.VC", "we", "us"), 1 First Canadian Place, 100 King Street West, Suite 6200, P.O. Box 50, Toronto, Ontario M5X 1B8, Canada. What we collect
- What you send us. When you pitch us, claim an Atlas listing, request analyst access or subscribe to our newsletter, we collect what you enter: your name, email, organisation, role, company details and any links you share.
- Emails you send. If you write to us, we keep the message and your contact details.
- Basic technical data. Our hosting provider records standard server logs (such as IP address, browser and pages requested) for security and reliability.
We do not ask for, and ask you not to send, sensitive personal information through this website.
Why we use it
- To reply to you and review your pitch, listing or access request.
- To keep the HUMANUS Atlas accurate.
- To send our newsletter, only if you have opted in.
- To keep the website secure and working.
Consent and email
We ask for your consent on every form. We send our newsletter only to people who have opted in, as Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) requires. Every newsletter includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw consent at any time by emailing jason@humanus.vc.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run this website, store our files and send email, under contracts that require them to protect it, or when the law requires it. These include our website host (DreamHost) and our email provider (Google).
Where it is stored
Our service providers may store information outside Canada, including in the United States. When that happens, it may be accessible to authorities in that country under its laws.
How long we keep it
We keep pitch and access submissions for as long as they are relevant to an investment or partnership conversation, and newsletter details until you unsubscribe. If no relationship develops, we delete or anonymise pitch and access submissions within 24 months of our last contact.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent. Residents of some US states and other places may have further rights, such as deletion. Email jason@humanus.vc and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards for the information we hold, including encrypted connections and access controls. No system is perfectly secure.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and it does not use analytics.
Changes
We will post any changes here and update the effective date above.
